A Picture(s) Worth a Thousand Words

Day 129

If you are a Rockies fan, lately you know how the team has been doing. Although there are some bright spots, there’s a lot of at bats like these. Watch the ball and batters eyes in each of these plays. It says everything of late.

That’s a strike that blew by. And some more like these.

More of the same. Low balls being swung on equals no offense.

Strikes right down the middle too.

No hits, no runs to back up pitching that’s not been top notch the last two games.

Bad outings leads to moments like this.

And having 2 errors and a total of four really poor plays at third that let runs score, can make for loneliness in the infield.

Somebody has to break the streak and start scoring runs and lasting through the 5th inning and 86 pitches.

When Did Kelly from The Bad News Bears make the Pros?

     Tim Lincecum by Tom Walsh

Tim Lincecum looks like he should be pitching in high school. I will say the guy seems like the coolest person he could be. After workouts, he made it a point to sign every autograph and take pictures with fans who were waiting for him.

I hope to see him at work on the mound soon and it will be interesting to see how his career turns out.

TimLincecum1byTomWalsh.JPGUntil then I’ll still crack up how small and young this guys looks but what devastation he can bring to opposing hitters. You really have to see this kid in real life to see what I mean.

Great pictures, Tom! They tell the whole story. And yes, Lincecum always makes me think I’m watching high school ball – until he lets loose with a pitch. Good to know he signs autographs for everybody and is a nice guy.

It sounds like the Rockies and the White Sox are having some of the same problems. So I feel your pain, even through my boycott. I’ve seen Lincecum pitch live twice. It’s absolutely amazing to see. I really don’t think I’ve seen anyone like him before. The Giants are incredibly lucky to have him on their staff.

    Tom,
    Great photos man.
I remember when people gasped when we did not pick him in the draft with the first pick a few years back.
I think it turned out well for us (Evan Longoria).
The guy is a master with the pea, and he still has a long way to go, but he is surely making a steep hill for him to climb in the future with such great success.
Do not fret on the strikeout ratio right now.
Sometimes a team just take a bit long to get into that groove.

Jane- Yeah it was very cool to see him signing and he seemed pretty shy too, so I can’t help but like the guy for that.
Jen- Very cool you’ve checked him out twice. I’m sure I’ll get to see him at least once this season since he is in the west and there’s plenty of games left with the G-men.
Julia- LOL point taken, but seriously he could ride a dirt bike into the stadium and play the part of The Bad News Bear he looks so young.
Rays- Yeah I’d say the Rays did pretty well in Langoria so nothing to much to gripe about. Good thing though : )
Kaybee- Maybe I can freelance some photos for you and get you set up with some Padre picks? We’ll have to talk it over.
Hyun Young- What the long hair doesn’t do it for ya? : )

Well, Kevin Kouzmanoff is a MUST. He’s the beautiful bald third baseman, #5. Then catcher Nick Hundley (#4), definitley. Adrian Gonzalez, Scott Hairston, maybe. Pitcher, Jake Peavy. Heath Bell if he’s closing out a game against you guys 🙂 Thanks so much!

Kylie- Lol I’ll take compliments whenever : )
Melissa- Yeah, I always dig it when a player makes time out for the fans and isn’t doing it grudgingly.
Jeff- Hey it makes him unique so he can rock it as far as I say.
Kaybee- I’ll take the list down : )
Emily- yeah, butt shots are my specialty but what can I say! Did I look cold and tired? If so that was me!
