Is It Me? Nahhh. 30 Runs In Four Games-But I Won’t Name Names
Day 100
Opening day at Coors Field and I have to pinch myself to keep my overzealous imagination from going wild. The Rockies are 3-1 and have scored 30 runs in four games and I cant help but thinking- is it me?
There’s all kinds of superstitions in baseball right? Some guys don’t change socks if they win in them. Some don’t shave. Maybe this journey to shine a light on this great country and her pasttime has brought some crazy karma to the Rockies that even I don’t know about?
Nahhh. It has to be the bringing back of Don Baylor as a hitting coach or the maturation of some young talented players. Right?
I have heard so many people tell me the Rockies are supposed to be so horrible that they would only finish above the Padres in the division. Tomorrow they are going to falter and lose and keep losing then? It’s early. Don’t get my hopes up. Your just going to follow around a losing squad and have fun with that.
Jason Marquis comes in and pitches seven strong innings and leaves after 92 pitches. He scored the first run and then ended up 2-2 with 2 RBIs in the batting box. Could it be any better?
I got a chance to spend some time with family and I get to go see the Boss himself in a few minutes here at the Pepsi Center. Is this a dream-the good kind?
I’ll have the rest of the night to think about it, before the game tomorrow and see if the Rockies come down from this cloud. Until then, I leave this shortened blog to get to the concert and I leave you with a picture of what it must feel like to be a Rockies opponent right now.
Oh, that was painful. I couldn’t even watch the whole thing. Your Rockies were looking pretty darn good. Hamels, not so good. And Chris Coste always looks pretty much like that – even when he’s smiling (and it’s hard to tell when) he looks very serious. We’ll see what happens tomorrow!

The more I read this blog, the more I find myself cheering for the Rockies. What is happening? Hahaha. What are you doing to me, Tom! Hope the concert was good. Not like it wouldn’t be cuz it’s the Boss!

You know, right now, the Rockies are on the top of the division – only one place above the Padres π I’m loving that the Dodgers have a losing record. Yeah, it’s EARLY…but this is the first time the Padres have had a winning record since April 16th last year! haha! I can’t believe how well my Padres are playing right now. It feels good to be winning, huh?

It is because I have Ubaldo Jimenez on my fantasy team so he can cheer on the Rockies from a very good spot. π

Tom,
It’s definitely you! And believe me, I’m wicked superstitious as well. You should see how many times I move couch cushions in one night. Whatever works, right?

Sue- more important you guys need Hamels to stay healthy. Hopefully it was just a bad start.
Jen- The Boss was amazing as usual.
Kaybee- I am finding a lot of people are happy with the Dodgers losing this year!
Mets- Nice choice with Ubaldo. It will pay off I know it!
Elizabeth- Cushions! Classic, never heard of that one but I love it.
